గాలె: శ్రీలంకతో తొలి టెస్టులో భారత బౌలర్లు చెలరేగారు. ముఖ్యంగా భారత ఆఫ్ స్పిన్నర్ అశ్విన్ (3/15) సూపర్ స్పెల్ తో రాణించి లంక టాపార్డర్ పనిపట్టాడు. బుధవారం ఆరంభమైన తొలి టెస్టులో టాస్ గెలిచి బ్యాటింగ్ కు దిగిన లంకను.. భారత్ బౌలర్లు లంచ్ సమయానికి 65 పరుగులకే 5 వికెట్లు పడగొట్టారు. అశ్విన్ మూడు వికెట్లు పడగొట్టగా.. వరుణ్ అరోన్, ఇషాంత్ చెరో వికెట్ తీశారు. మాథ్యూస్ (26 బ్యాటింగ్), చాందిమల్ ( బ్యాటింగ్ 5) క్రీజులో ఉన్నారు.
   
    మ్యాచ్ ఆరంభంలోనే లంకేయులకు కష్టాలకు మొదలయ్యాయి. ఇన్నింగ్స్ ఏడో ఓవర్లో భారత పేసర్ ఇషాంత్.. లంక ఓపెనర్ కరుణరత్నే (9)ను అవుట్ చేసి వికెట్ల పతనానికి శ్రీకారం చుట్టాడు. ఆ తర్వాత లంక బ్యాట్స్ మెన్ పెవిలియన్ కు క్యూ కట్టారు. మరుసటి ఓవర్లో వరుణ్ అరోన్.. మరో ఓపెనర్ కౌశల్ సిల్వాను (5) అవుట్ చేశాడు. ఆ తర్వాత అశ్విన్ వరసగా సంగక్కర (5), తిరుమన్నె (13), ముబారక్ (0)ను అవుట్ చేసి లంకను పీకల్లోతు కష్టాల్లోకి నెట్టాడు.                 

అనుష్క దత్తపుత్రుడుగా మహేష్..? 'ప్రతాపరుద్రుడు'గా వస్తాడా?

టాలీవుడ్‌లో ఎవరి నోట విన్నా 'రుద్రమదేవి' మాటే. గుణశేఖర్ ప్రతిష్ఠాత్మకంగా తెరకెక్కిస్తున్న ఈ చిత్రం సెప్టెంబర్ నాలుగో తేదిన ప్రపంచ వ్యాప్తంగా గ్రాండ్ రిలీజ్ కానుంది. ఇందులో 'రుద్రమదేవి' పాత్రలో అనుష్క అలరించనుంది. ఇక ఈ సినిమాకి సీక్వెల్‌గా గుణశేఖర్ 'ప్రతాపరుద్రుడు'ను తెరకెక్కించనున్నాడనే వార్త కొన్ని రోజులుగా టాలీవుడ్‌లో హల్‌చెల్ చేస్తోంది. ఆ చిత్రంలో టైటిల్ రోల్‌ని అల్లు అర్జున్ చేస్తాడనే మాట వినిపించింది. అయితే తాజాగా ఆ పాత్రని ప్రిన్స్ మహేష్ బాబు చేయవచ్చనే టాక్ వినిపిస్తోంది.

ఇప్పటికే 'రుద్రమదేవి'లో గోన గన్నారెడ్డి అనే పవర్ ఫుల్ పాత్రని అల్లు అర్జున్ చేయడంతోనే, 'ప్రతాపరుద్రుడు'గా మహేష్ చేయవచ్చని టాక్. ఈ సినిమా చరిత్రకు వస్తే 'రుద్రమదేవి',  చాళుక్య వీరభద్రుడికి ముమ్ముడమ్మ - రుయ్యమ్మ అని ఇద్దరు కుమార్తెలు. వీరిలో ముమ్ముడమ్మ- మహాదేవుడుకి 'ప్రతాపరుద్రుడు' జన్మించాడు. అతనే రుద్రమదేవికి దత్తపుత్రుడై రాజ్యాధికారాన్ని చేపట్టాడు.

ఈ స్టోరీ ప్రకారం చూస్తే 'రుద్రమదేవి'గా అనుష్క అయితే, ఆమె దత్తపుత్రుడుగా మహేష్ వస్తాడన్నమాట. మరి పౌరుష ప్రతాపాలకు ప్రతీకగా కనిపించే ఈ పాత్ర చేయడానికి మహేష్ అంగీకరిస్తాడో లేదో తెలియాల్సి ఉంది.

పెప్సీకి బడా ఫైన్

ఏ దిల్ హై మాంగే మోర్.. అంటూ ప్రాణాలతో చెలగాటమాడిన పెప్సీ, కోలా కంపెనీల నడ్డివిరిగేలా చెన్నై వినియోగదారుల ఫోరం జరిమానా వడ్డించింది. వివరాల్లోకి వెళితే.. చెన్నై లోని పట్టినంబక్కమ్‌కు చెందిన నెహ్రూ అనే వ్యక్తి  ఓ ప్రైవేట్ ఇన్సూరెన్స్ కంపెనీలో పని చేస్తున్నాడు. తనను కలిసేందుకు వచ్చిన వినోద్ అనే మిత్రుడి కోసం సెయింట్ బీడ్స్ మెట్రిక్యులేషన్ హయ్యర్ సెకండరీ స్కూల్ క్యాంపస్‌లోని క్యాంటీన్ నుంచి రెండు 200 యం.ఎల్. పెప్సీ డ్రింక్ బాటిళ్లు తెచ్చాడు. ఇద్దరూ  ఆ డ్రింక్ తాగిన తరువాత  ఆఫీసులకు వెళ్లిపోయారు. ఐతే, కాసేపటికే వినోద్‌కు వాంతులు మొదలయ్యాయి. దీంతో  వెంటనే వినోద్‌ను హాస్పిటల్‌కు తరలించారు. ఆయన తాగిన కోలాను పరిశీలించిన డాక్టర్లు ఆ డ్రింక్‌లో చనిపోయిన పురుగు ఉన్నట్టు గుర్తించారు. దీంతో ఖంగారుపడ్డ నెహ్రూ వెంటనే తాను పెప్సీ కొన్న షాపు ఓనర్ వద్దకు వెళ్లి  ఆ కూల్ డ్రింక్స్‌ని ఎవ్వరికీ అమ్మవద్దనీ, ఇదే విషయాన్ని పెప్సీ కంపెనీకి అఫీషియల్‌గా తెలియజేసినా ఈ విషయాన్ని లైట్‌గా తీసుకోవడంతో నెహ్రూ జిల్లా వినియోగదారుల ఫోరంలో కేసు వేశాడు. అంతేకాకుండా 15.25 లక్షల రూపాయల నష్ట పరిహారం చెల్లించాలని పిటిషన్ వేశాడు.
\కేసు హియరింగ్‌కు వచ్చింది. బాటిల్ తమ కంపెనీదే కానీ, దాన్లో ఉన్న డ్రింక్ మాత్రం మాది  కాదని కంపెనీ వాదించింది. ఐతే, పెప్సీ నకిలీది అని చెప్పే రుజువులను కోర్టుకు చూపించలేకపోయింది. కోర్టు ఆ డ్రింక్‌ను ల్యాబ్‌కు పంపింది. అది పురుగో.. చెట్టు బెరడో.. తెలియదుకానీ బాగా కుళ్లిపోయిన అవశేషం డ్రింక్‌లో ఉందని, అది మనుషులు తాగడానికి పనికిరాదనీ ల్యాబ్ తన నివేదికలో పేర్కొంది. దీంతో జిల్లా వినియోగదారుల ఫోరం ప్రజలకు నాణ్యమైన కోలా అందించడంలో నిలువెత్తు నిర్లక్ష్యం వహించారంటూ  క్యాంటిన్ ఓనర్‌కూ, పెప్సీకోలా సంస్థకూ అక్షింతలు వేసింది.  క్లయింట్  నెహ్రూకు నష్టసపరిహారం కూడా చెల్లించాలని ఆదేశించింది. దీంతో  పెప్సీ సంస్థ కాళ్ళ బేరానికి వచ్చింది. క్లయింట్ డిమాండ్ చేసిన నష్టపరిహారం మొత్తం మరింత ఎక్కువగా ఉందనీ , అంత చెల్లించలేమని ప్రాధేయపడటంతో యాభై వేల రూపాయల జరిమానా, కోర్టు ఖర్చుల కింద మరో ఐదు వేలు చెల్లించాలని ఆదేశించింది.

నాగ్ ని 'బాధపెట్టిన' బాహుబలి

ప్రపంచ వ్యాప్తంగా తెలుగు సినిమా ఖ్యాతిని చాటిచెప్పిన రాజమౌళి 'బాహుబలి',  కింగ్ నాగార్జునను బాధకు గురిచేసింది. 'బాహుబలి' చిత్రంలో నటించలేకపోవడం తనకు బాధగా ఉందని సాక్షాత్తూ నాగ్ స్వయంగా వెల్లడించారు. అనంద్‌ నీలకంఠన్‌ రాసిన 'అజయ2 - రైజ్‌ ఆఫ్‌ కలి' పుస్తక విడుదల కార్యక్రమంలో ఆయనీ వ్యాఖ్యలు చేశారు.
 ఏఎన్‌ఆర్‌, ఎన్టీఆర్ నటించిన పౌరాణిక చిత్రాలంటే తనకు చాలా ఇష్టమని, అలాంటి పాత్రలు చేయాలని ఉందని నాగ్ తన మనసులోని మాట బయటపెట్టారు. కానీ అందుకు తగ్గ సందర్భం రావడం లేదన్నారు. బాహుబలి చిత్రం చాలా గొప్పగా ఉంది.  అందులో నటించిన వారందరూ నిజంగా అదృష్టవంతులని ఆయన అభినందించారు. హైదరాబాద్ జీవీకే వన్‌మాల్‌లో జరిగిన పుస్తకావిష్కరణ కార్యక్రమంలో అక్కినేని నాగార్జున, అమల దంపతులు  పాల్గొని పుస్తకావిష్కరణ చేశారు.

Competition Format

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 will be contested by 14 teams which have been ‘seeded’ and divided into two Pools:

Pool Matches
The first round of the competition will be the Pool stage.
Each team will play every other team in their Pool. Points will be allocated for each match in accordance with the system described in table below.

In the event of teams finishing on equal points in its Pool, the right to play in the quarter-finals will be decided in the following order of priority.

• The team with the most wins in the Pool matches will be placed in the higher position.
• If there are teams with equal points and equal wins in the Pool matches then in such case the team with the higher net run rate in the Pool matches will be placed in the higher position (calculation of net run rate).
• If two or more teams are still equal, they will be ordered according to the head to head matches played between them (points then net run rate in those matches).
• In the highly unlikely event that teams cannot be separated by the above, teams will be ordered according to their original seeding.
• If all matches within a Pool are a no result, the top four seeded teams will progress to the quarter-finals.

Quarter Final
Following the Pool stage the top 4 teams in each Pool will progress to the quarter-finals as follows:

Quarter-final - 1	A1 v B4
Quarter-final - 2	A2 v B3
Quarter-final - 3	A3 v B2
Quarter-final - 4	A4 v B1

• If a quarter-final is tied, abandoned or if the match is a no result, then the team that finished in the higher position in the Pool stage shall proceed to the semi-finals.

Semi Final
The winners of the quarter-finals will qualify for the semi-finals as follows:

• If a semi-final is tied, abandoned or if the match is a no result, then the team that finished in the higher position in the Pool stage shall proceed to the final.

The winners of the semi-finals will contest the Final.

Final

• If the Final is tied, the winner will be decided by a Super Over.
• If the Final is abandoned or if the match is a no result, then the teams will be declared joint winners.

Net Run Rate

A group's net run rate is ascertained by deducting from the normal runs every over scored by that group all through the opposition, the normal runs every over scored against that group all through the opposition.
